for impartial advice on the BEST SIXTH FORM COLLEGES from Education Advisers Ltd
There are approximately 500 independent boarding schools in the UK, covering the age range 7-18 with a very few also accepting children under the age of 7. In this section we cover five aspects of choosing a boarding school for your child.
A. Best Boarding School League Tables – transfer to this section to view the top boarding senior schools tables listed separately by boys, girls and co-educational. This measures schools by A levels or IB performance. For schools which do not meet the top 100 threshold, their grades (but not a ranking) may be found in their profile in the Find a School section if we have obtained them. If the boarding school does not offer A levels (because they end at 11, 13 or 16) they are not included in the rankings. We only include schools with at least 20% boarders or a minimum of 50 boarders. We feel it is unsatisfactory if there are less than 50 boarders in a school over the weekend.
B. Find a boarding school – if you are looking at the top boarding school league tables, then just clicking your cursor on a school name will take you to the school’s details. If you want to find a school by area then follow this link and enter “senior school 11 to 18” in the search engine.

D. eGuide on Boarding Schools -we have written an eGuide on how to choose an independent boarding school, including factors other than academic performance.
